This November, Charleston County has a choice to make roads safer, reduce traffic, improve transit and mobility, and preserve greenspace. Vote YES on the transportation sales tax referendum.
This referendum is about more than just extending the Mark Clark Expressway (I-526); it's about making Charleston County safer, more connected, and environmentally sustainable. Key projects include enhancing existing roads and bridges to increase safety and reduce congestion, strengthening infrastructure to meet the needs of our growing population, and improving pedestrian and bicycle safety by adding sidewalks to connect neighborhoods and public spaces. With a focus on alleviating traffic and investing in our transit system, the referendum also prioritizes preserving greenspace and protecting Charleston’s natural resources from overdevelopment.
